Ealing Council are looking for motivated individual to be part of a team that is responsible for and deal with all aspects of Housing Benefit, Council tax reduction, revisions and appeals process, including preparation and presentation of cases to the First-tier appeals tribunal and the adjudication of fraudulent cases in accordance with Housing Benefit regulations, Decision Making and Appeals, Local Council Tax Reduction scheme and other relevant regulations.
The role includes investigating and replying to complaints, the Ombudsman, Councillors, MPs, Solicitors, Voluntary bodies, and other enquiries from customers’ representatives relating to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments claims.
You must have specialist knowledge and a clear understanding of Discretionary Housing Payments, Housing and Council Tax Benefits regulations. Experience in preparing and/or presenting at Housing Benefit / Appeal Tribunals, Valuation Tribunals. There will be a requirement to present face to face at Appeal tribunal locations when requested.
You must be able to manage your own workload and ensure you are effective in balancing priorities. You will be dealing with a high workload. We are looking for someone with a professional and friendly approach to give excellent customer service to our residents.
