Revenues and Benefits Customer Service Officer

Hours Monday – Friday 9 – 5pm 37 hours

Remote working


  • Covering telephone calls and emails in a busy Revenues and Benefit Contact Centre environment.
  • Answering and resolving Customer queries relating to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction enquiries.
  • Advising and resolving Council Tax enquiries, setting up direct debits and negotiating and inputting payment arrangements on unsummonsed and summonsed Council Tax accounts.
  • Completing concise notes on Northgate and completing memos for Benefit and Council Tax processing staff to complete.
  • Dealing with sometimes difficult and challenging customers while to ensure calls are dealt with in an efficient, timely manner.
  • Ideally candidates will have experience in both Benefits and Council Tax but candidates with experience and knowledge of one of the two areas will be considered.
  • Revenues and Benefits Customer Service Experience essential. Northgate version 6 experience essential.
